Yesterday Rihanna was spotted out shopping in Australia. She decided to do so in an an outfit that is as elegant as you can get while still being able to call it casual. She paired the silk button down - i just threw on my dad/ boyfriends shirt real quick- dress with all black (except for the red bottoms of course) Louboutin heels, and a... what?...anklet. I haven't looked at an ankle bracelet since I was still wearing a uniform and waiting on my mom to drive me to school. Im no meteorologist, but I spy an ankle bracelet trend forecaaast. Will ankle bracelets end up in your jewelery box this summer or is that a trend you'll kindly pass on?
Today Beyonce premiered her newest video for her single Run the World (Girls) on American Idol. (if you missed it, or didn’t get enough of it, watch it here) The Francis Lawrence –directed video is a 4:51 minute fast fashion show to go. While staying true to her feminine style, Bey managed to also toughen up her usual sexy look by including pieces by Alexander McQueen, Gareth Pugh, Norma Kamali, Emilio Pucci, Sergio Rossi and Givenchy. My favorite? Why the yellow Emilio Pucci gown of course. Ms. Knowels – Carter made the gown her own by adding, or should I say subtracting alterations to parts of the dress that she felt was unnecessary. The fabric that once covered her hips all the way down to the ankles obviously didn’t make the cut. I prefer the original (shown below) better, however. What do you think?

If your blesssed enough to be able to call yourself a Houston native ;) you know that Clutch City is one of its many nicknames. (Clutch city is a play on the phrase Choke city. The Houston Rockets were given the name during their, for lack of a better phrase, glory days. Quick history lesson.) Now a days however, Houston is not the only city catching on to the newest clutch trend. Revamped versions of the clutch wallet/ purse are being seen on women everywhere, from the runways to everyday casual wear. Personally, oversized clutches are my love. I wallow in the wonderfulness of a clutch being big enough to slouch or extend over the front and back of my arm. You may, on the other hand, prefer a medium sized clutch, a small or tiny one. If so, there are plenty of sizes, designs and brands for you to choose from that can top off and upgrade both your dressy and or casual outfit.

Its no secret that I'm not one to match my clothes. Its my personal belief that if a color appears more than twice in an outfit, it might be doing too much. For my taste anyway. There are so many colors that match without matching. So why limit yourself? Have fun. I recently ran across a post at http://www.fashiondujourdaily.wordpress.com/ where the art (who knew there was a method to this?) of matching colors, without matching colors has been given a name.

I have a million different emotions and thoughts going on in my head. All the time. At any given point in the day. As I continue to court myself and get to know who I really am, I gotta say I'm loving me some... me. I love when my intangible thoughts and feelings are spoken or written so perfectly that it makes those same unsure emotions become just as concrete and certain as the letters that they are written in. That was the case when I saw this and thought I'd share. Beautiful girls, know who you are. If you don't know now, Get To Know. Take some time to yourself. We often rush into other relationships head first without having a strong sense of who we are and are more likely to lose ourselves in that relationship because we never really had a grip on who we are to begin with. Do not change who you are for any reason except to become an even better You. I read this everyday for inspiration to stay true to who I am, despite my circumstances. Hopefully it can inspire you too.
